The ML&R Community Committee organized a volunteer day at the Central Texas Food Bank on November 6, 2024. During the event, Team ML&R inspected, sorted, and prepared food for distribution, supporting the Food Bank’s mission to fight hunger throughout Central Texas.
At Maxwell Locke & Ritter, our three pillars—people, clients, and community—shape our values and drive our commitment to giving back to the community that has given so much to us. We are proud to support the Central Texas Food Bank as they collaborate with food donors, financial supporters, and volunteers to address unmet needs and nourish hungry people across Central Texas.
About Central Texas Food Bank
As a leader in the fight against hunger for more than 40 years, the Central Texas Food Bank’s mission is to nourish hungry people and lead the community in the fight against hunger. The organization works with food donors across the country, financial supporters, and volunteers to fill unmet needs in Central Texas. This commitment from private, government, and charitable partners has allowed the Food Bank to bring nearly 54 million meals to the community last year.
There are three key ways they achieve this:
- Providing Healthy Food and Education
The Central Texas Food Bank shares free food and knowledge about low-cost, healthy eating with families in need. - Connecting Families to Assistance
They assist families who qualify for federal assistance programs. - Supporting Community Partners
By making food affordable for charitable and government partners, the Central Texas Food Bank enables these organizations to spend their limited resources enhancing their programs.
The Food Bank believes there is strength in numbers and in working together. As a member of Feeding America and Feeding Texas (formerly the Texas Food Bank Network), they serve 21 counties across Central Texas, including Bastrop, Bell, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, Coryell, Falls, Fayette, Freestone, Gillespie, Hays, Lampasas, Lee, Limestone, Llano, McLennan, Milam, Mills, San Saba, Travis, and Williamson. Approximately 300 Partner Agencies collaborate with the Food Bank to serve families through soup kitchens, food pantries, after-school programs, snack programs, and other service sites.
